Bus operation disasters!

Today seems to be a day full of problems for the bus industry. With three separate incidents reported this morning in Nottingham and Derbyshire alone, several bus companies must be quite annoyed.

This morning a Skills Dennis Trident double decker, whilst operating a regular private contract pulled in at Parkside bus stop, at Wollaton Road, in Bramcote. The bus then attempted to overtake a Nottingham City Council refuse vehicle, when the refuse collector opened the drivers door, smashing into the window. The passengers were then transferred to the upper saloon and by the time the bus made the afternoon return journey, the window was repaired.

Above is the Dennis Trident with all the damage and to
the right is it later on in the day, fully repaired. This is an example
of Skills' excellent engineering depmartment.

On the Trent Barton Live Facebook page a passenger on the V2 this morning reported that someone had collapsed on the bus in front (the V1). The passengers were speedily transferred to the V2 and the injured person was taken away in an ambulance. She is now doing fine.

Finally it was reported this morning that a yourbus Mercedes Benz Citaro went down Moor Lane, a small no through road in Bramcote Hills. The large, brand new vehicle then had to turn in the middle of the road. What it was doing in the area I don't know, but the driver won't be making that mistake again!

Whilst all of these incidents are not good, the fact that the drivers handled them well, in a professional manner made for good customer service. It just goes to show, every cloud has a silver lining.
