Nottinghamshire real time (And summer is here!)

Finally. The summer holidays. I will have much more time to ride on buses and write about them on the blog. You can expect a post at least every other day, but generally daily up to the end of August. Below is a small item of new about live bus tracking systems along Derby Road from Sandiacre, Regent Street to Stapleford, Bembridge Court.

Live information displays like the ones Nottingham CIty Council use have been installed at five key bus stops along Derby Road, starting with Bembridge Court (Previously the Sherwin Arms). The systems replace the old Star-Track system powered by Leicestershire County Council and shows both trent barton and premiere buses, although not always in real time. The picture below the signs at Bemridge Court, towards Nottingham.
The real time information screen at Bembridge Court (Stapleford) heading towards Nottingham. This stop is
served by the 4, 17, 18, 20, 21 and the Commuter Express. It was also served by the RED4 until its withdrawal today.

  1. Why has the RED4 Been withdrawn?

  2. It was withdrawn after low usage because of competition from Bargain Bus. The post above (Premiere RED4 withdrawn) has more details on this.
